Lisa Edberg is an artist, photographer and designer exploring the absurdities of every day life through playfulness, surrealism and a twist of the familiar.

The type of work of Lisa varies from spatial design, video installations, sculptures and photographs. Sometimes also including soundscapes and performances. Her main inspiration is nature, body and our (dis) connection with them. She looks at absurdities and contradictions in the mundane: how we live, how we interpret situations and societal rules. The strangeness and beauty in the familiar that appears when closely observing it, as if for the first time. These observations are used as a starting point in her process, but she does not document what she sees. She looks at the observations from different angles and put them in another context to highlight/question/play with the contradictions. The visual result of this intend to challenge the way we normally look at things, and with the ambiguity inviting the visitor to wonder and interpret.

Craftsmanship and quality of materials are important aspects in the work. There is something special in the energy and beauty of art that has been made with skill, time and care. Whenever possible she uses natural materials, which creates a contrast to the use of technology. The experience is often described by visitors as surreal, serene, strange and with a humorous, absurd touch.
